AFRIMA Storms Uganda for Stakeholders Conference

Following her successful AUC-AFRIMA conference at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa recently, All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, will be holding a stakeholders’ conference in Uganda on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Hotel Africana, Kampala, Uganda.

Tous les Prix de Musique Afrique, en partenariat avec la Commission de l'Union Africaine, l’UA, commencera le dépôt des candidatures pour l'édition de cette année des prix continentaux à lundi le 18 mai 2015.



Le président de la Commission de l’Union Africaine, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma a promis que la commission travaillera plus fort d’obtenir plus de pays membres ratifient la Charte de la renaissance culturelle africaine, un instrument de politique de l’UA qui vise à utiliser le diverssement, les arts, le tourisme et d’autres produits culturels comme des instruments pour le développement économique en Afrique.


Afrima, African Union to Unveil Afrima 2015 Calendar in Addis Ababa

The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, and the African Union Commission, AUC, are set to unveil the 2015 calendar for the continental awards project at a cultural and media conference scheduled to hold on April 29, 2015 at the African Union Commission Secretariat, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This is in addition to the International Committee conference and meeting scheduled to hold on the 28 April, 2015.


“I’m honoured when AFRICA recognises me” -Angelique Kidjo on receiving her AFRIMA trophies

Beninese multi award winning singer and songwriter, Angelique Kidjo, has said that she is especially honoured when award projects on the continent recognise her with rewards for music excellence.

The Savoy Records star artiste made this declaration recently in Cotonou, the capital of Republic Du Benin during a ceremony where she was presented with two trophies for Best Female Artiste West Africa and Best African Contemporary awarded at the 2014 All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, which held on Saturday, December 27,2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.


AFRIMA Holds Soiree For Creative Industry

To kick-start its New Year, the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, invited collaborators, partners and friends from the creative industry of Nigeria to an evening event tagged “Soiree with AFRIMA” held recently at the Amber Residence Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

The soiree also doubled as a forum for the International Committee of AFRIMA to receive feedback from the invitees on 2014 edition of the award ceremony which took place in Lagos, Nigeria, on Saturday, December 27 in partnership with the African Union Commission, AUC, and was hosted by Africa’s leading contemporary music star, 2baba Idibia and Maryse Acotie, a famous broadcaster from Togo.

The 2014 All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, brought together some of the best talents from the five regions of the continent to the 2014 main award ceremony held on Saturday, December 27, at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Lagos Nigeria.

Starting from the red carpet to the stage embellishments, Africa’s enduring cultural heritage and creativity were on display at the highly-anticipated awards ceremony that also welcomed guests which included African Union Commission, AUC, officials, government officials from ministries of culture, ministries of trade and industry and captains of industry across Africa.

AFRIMA 2014: Channel O endorses best RnB Song of the Year Category

In aligning with the vision and objectives of All Africa Music Award, AFRIMA, Africa’s leading urban music channel, Channel O, has thrown its weight behind AFRIMA by endorsing one of the categories of AFRIMA, the Best R n B Song of the Year.  In line with the agreement signed between Electric Media Network (PTY) owner of Multichoice and AFRIMA Awards Limited, the category will now be known as Best R n B Song in Africa brought to you by Channel O. 


2Face, Madinga to host 2014 All Africa Music Award

Two of the best out of Africa, have been announced by the International Committee of All Africa Music, AFRIMA, to host the 2014 edition of the AFRIMA awards. They are Democratic Republic of Congo “French speaking hottest” female broadcaster and music presenter, Madinga Sona Maria and Nigerian legendary contemporary music star, 2Face Idibia. The two are the co-host of AFRIMA award ceremony holding in Lagos Nigeria on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the prestigious grand ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
