AFRIMA 2025 ENTRY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS

All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, 2025 is officially open for entries to reward and celebrate excellence in musical artistry from African creatives living on the continent and in the Diaspora.
We are recieving entries that stand a chance for nomination in one or more of the 40 AFRIMA award categories representing Africa’s five regions and diverse music genres. Succesful entries and eventual winners in any category goes home with the 23.9-carat gold AFRIMA trophy. So what are you waiting for?

Who Can Submit?
All music professionals of African origin, living within the continent or abroad, are eligible. AFRIMA invites submissions from:

  1. Artistes
  2. Songwriters
  3. Music Producers
  4. Video Directors
  5. DJs
  6. Choreographers/Dancers
  7. Music/Entertainment Journalists
  8. Unrecorded Artistes

Important Dates

  • Entry Opens: May 27, 2025
  • Entry Closes: August 8, 2025
  • Only works produced or released in the year under review between AUGUST 8, 2024 and AUGUST 8, 2025 (the year under review) will be accepted for consideration.

Further Submission Guidelines

  1. Eligibility: All music professionals of African origin, whether based on the continent or in the Diaspora, are eligible to submit entries.
  2. Open Entry Period: Submissions are open from May 27, 2025, and will close on August 8, 2025.
  3. Eligible Entrants Include: Artistes, Songwriters, Video Directors, Music Producers, DJs, Dancers/Choreographers, Record labels, and unrecorded artistes.
  4. Work Validity: Only works released within the review period (August 8, 2024 – August 8, 2025) are eligible for consideration.
  5. Submission Portal: Entries must be submitted digitally via the AFRIMA website: https://afrima.org/AFRIMA2025
  6. No Email Submissions: Entries sent to any AFRIMA email address will NOT be accepted or considered.
  7. Entry Form Requirements: The online Entry Registration Form must be: 
    – Accurately completed
    – Include working/active URL links to digital versions of your work (audio, video, article, etc.)
  8. Language Options: The submission form is available in English and French, with Arabic and Portuguese translations accessible.
  9. ⁠Platform for Uploads: Audio or video works should be submitted using downloadable or streamable links from platforms such as YouTube or SoundCloud.
  10. By clicking the check box, I consent to the AFRIMA terms and conditions, including the collection and processing of my personal data, for the purpose of participating in the AFRIMA awards, and related activities, including but not limited to,

    By submitting your work(s) to AFRIMA Awards (All Africa Music Awards), you have granted AFRIMA the right to use your beat, sound, image, likeness, voice, lyric, audio, music, visual, single, album, title, subtitle, caption, design, overlay logo, lower third, colour, shape, pattern, background, location, model, dance, and related content for promotional and official purposes.

    AFRIMA has the right to reproduce your work (audio or video), in whole or in part, for promotional materials or documentation and may distribute your work(s) through various media channels, including TV, radio, print, out-of-home, newsletter, email, online news, blogs, streaming platforms, and social media for promotional purposes and your work(s) may be synchronized with AFRIMA’s visuals, montages, award clips, promotional videos, sound, images and AFRIMA may edit or adapt portions of your submission (e.g., trim, title, subtitle, caption, overlay logos, beat, sound, image, model, lyric, voice, dance, visual, ) for promotional use without altering the core artistic integrity.

    Your submission may be stored in AFRIMA’s digital and physical archives for future reference, broadcast, or historical purposes. AFRIMA may publicly play or broadcast the submitted audio or video at events, meetings, conferences, symposia, exhibitions, ceremonies, among others or through digital and broadcast channels.

    AFRIMA may use your name, image, likeness, and elements of your submission in merchandise, award-related branding, and promotional campaigns. AFRIMA can share your content across its official digital platforms, including but not limited to YouTube, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Facebook, Newsletter, Linkedin. AFRIMA may grant limited third-party use of your content strictly for coverage, promotion, or media partnership related to the awards.

    You have waived any right to claim royalties, fees, or compensation from AFRIMA or it’s third-party for the use of your submitted materials, (work, videos, audio, music, sound, beat, image, likeness, visual, single, album, design), in the above-mentioned contexts.
